I AM SO EXCITED! I'm finishing with my Associates degree in April and this is my graduation gift from the hubster (so I had to beg, but still)... This show is coming to the North Charleston Coliseum in April, and I absolutly can not wait!! The boys are going to love it! It's also going to be their birthday gift. (they're turning 3 and 5 on the days that the show will be in town)

December '05

I found this picture the other day and saved it to my desktop. I can't stop looking at it. It makes me feel happy and sad at the same time. This was taken at the top of the stairs one night in December of 2005. I'd just taken them out of the bathtub and they were so sweet and cuddly clean. Why and how is time flying by so fast? Why am I sad that it is? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy - beyond happy. I'm blessed beyond measure. God has been so good to my family. The thing is, I've just been thinking about how fast the boys are growing and I want time to slow down. They'll be 3 and 5 years old in less than 2 months, and it seems like yesterday that this picture was taken. I registered my Stephen for kindergarten last night. My big boy will be in "real school" in just 6 months. Oh my.
I believe one day I'll have another baby. I believe that God is in the process of preparing me in many different ways for another child. There are a number of obstacles that are going to need to be crossed before we're blessed with another child, a couple that even seem insurmountable, but I honestly believe with all of my heart that it's his will. I sense his hand in my life changing me and transforming me, making me ready for a third little one. I sense and see the same process in Mike. I think he senses it too, but he certainly wouldn't admit it! He just doesn't want another baby, but as much as I've tried (and I have) I just can't shake this deep-rooted desire in my heart. It's not rational. I don't really want the work load of yet another little person to take care of, but that doesn't matter. I've tried talking myself out of it time and time again, but my heart just won't hear it. So I'll continue to wait for God's perfect timing and his will to come to pass. After all, I want what he wants - no matter what that might be.
Do you remember that old Sunday school song... " He's still working on me, to make me what I ought to be. It took him just a week to make the moon and the stars, the sun and the Earth and Jupiter and Mars. Oh how patient he must be, he's still working on me."
"My Father, have your way in my life, my marriage and in my family. Continue to work in me, change me, and make me more like Jesus. Prepare my heart for what's in store. Thank you for your awesome love and patience. Continue to work on me, Lord, and help me to be patient in the process. Amen."

Things kids (and husbands) say
I've been meaning to post these...
Christian(2)- "Hey Momma, if you ever get snot on your hands just wipe it off on your jeans like this..."
Stephen(4)- "To get milk in the stores the cowboys round up the cows and put them behind the store and get the milk out of 'em then fill up the jugs and put it in the store."
and the best (or worst...however you want to look at it) for last...
Mike(34)- "It sure is a good thing that you're asleep when you're sleeping because if you weren't it would be really boring."
Oh boy...
Anyway, I found a great little free photo editing site. It's perfect for small batches and those quick fixes. There's not even a download required, and you can save your shots in any format you want. Check it out!

Valentine's Day
I've been swimming in candy and cupcakes all day. It's been an absolute dream.
I had a party for my kids, which consisted of a few decorations and a small gift at dinner time. I made chocolate cupcakes too.
The hubster gave me gift certificates to two local stores. I'll soon indulge myself with some new jewelry and then some iced coffee from a coffee shop - they also happen to sell make-up so I'll probably get some new lipstick too. I have this thing with lipstick - it's some kind of odd obsession. I digress.
My dad gave me chocolates. He's been giving me a box of chocolates on Valentine's Day since I was a little girl. It's such a sweet gesture that my feelings aren't even hurt that I had to remind him this year...
I hope you had a happy heart day!

Hello Granny and Grandpa!
My dad tells me that my grandparents want to start reading my blog. I'm going to give them a call later today and give them my address, but first I wanted to be sure that they were properly welcomed!
HELLO GRANNY AND GRANDPA!! WE LOVE YOU!
Take a look through the archives and you'll find plenty of pictures of those two adorable little great-grandsons of yours. :-)
See you soon!
Love, Margo

Wedding Day Woes
Let me tell you, there's more to this wedding photography stuff than one might think! First of all - my. feet. hurt. Let me just get this out of the way, before I start complaining about everything that went wrong on my first wedding shoot, I must say that over all the experience was beautiful. The bride was amazingly beautiful, everyone was in a great mood and it was an awesome experience. It was a lot of fun. I absolutely love taking pictures, and it was such an honor to be the photographer at this wedding. I loved it! Now, with that said, here are my gripes: My camera chose today of all days to have technical problems. I don't want to go into detail, but they weren't little problems. They were pretty big, and very hindering. I didn't panic. I kept my cool and did my best with what I had to work with. I don't know what's causing the problems, but I sure hope it's fixable. Also, the lighting in the church and reception hall was terrible. That made my job tough. I had to do a lot of thinking to make each shot really work. Last, I didn't pack an extra battery and after the ceremony my camera's battery started blinking red. Panic mode. I am such a novice. I'm learning. Anyway, so while everyone was eating I ran to the bathroom and gave it a good charge. Thank Heavens I at least remembered to bring my charger! I didn't tell the bride of any of my difficulties. I didn't want to stress her out on her big day, but boy was I ever stressed! I somehow managed to get the shots. The day was a success. I think God was looking out for me. You live and learn, and next time I'm going to do a few things differently! I have about 1,000 shots to sort through. I'll share some of them when I'm finished editing.
